How ’bout a dance this September?
The Australian premiere of the smash-hit musical ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ is set to play at Hayes Theatre Co from 17 September. Producer Joshua Robson, who brought ‘In The Heights’ and ‘Violet’ to audiences, is thrilled to announce the production, with title roles to be played by Teagan Wouters and Mat Verevis.
Cast in 2019 when ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ was scheduled for the 2020 season, Wouters and Verevis are finally able to bring to life the infamous duo. Telling the story of America’s most notorious bank robbers and lovers, this production marks an exciting event for Australian audiences.
Teagan Wouters will undertake the role of Bonnie Parker, a girl caught between love and fame. No stranger to the spotlight herself, Wouters is known for her role of Nicola in the Australian production of ‘Kinky Boots’, for which she received a Helpmann Award nomination. Her other theatre credits include Tzeitel in ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, Lisa Houseman in the Australian tour of ‘Dirty Dancing’, Wednesday Addams in ‘The Addams Family’ and currently, she is touring as Julia in the Australian production of ‘The Wedding Singer’.

Fearless, shameless and alluring, this Tony-nominated musical is written by Frank Wildhorn (‘Jekyll & Hyde’, ‘Civil War’, ‘Dracula’) and tells an electrifying story of love, adventure and crime – guaranteed to capture the hearts of Australian audiences.
Directed and choreographed by newcomer Sam Hopper (‘Cats’, ‘Mamma Mia!’) and music direction by Zara Stanton (‘Fangirls’), ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ is thrilling and sexy, with a score of blues, gospel and rockabilly music. Hopper shared his excitement about this action-packed storyline, which will be a first for many.
