Dates Announced for 2025 Anywhere Festival
The next Anywhere Festival is set to return to Brisbane from 18 July to 3 August 2025, transforming unconventional locations like laneways, homes, and parks into performance stages.
Celebrating its fifteenth year, the festival aims to make theatre, music, and comedy accessible by breaking free of traditional venues.
Artistic Director and Founder Paul Osuch highlighted that the 2025 edition will focus on collaboration with local communities and artists, giving them a platform to showcase unique stories and perspectives. Registrations for artists and performers will open on 1 October 2024.
Since its inception in 2011, the Anywhere Festival has grown significantly, enabling thousands of performances that might not have been possible in conventional settings. The festival encourages artists to think creatively about how to use non-traditional spaces, which helps keep production costs low while engaging new audiences.
The 2025 program will continue to emphasise diversity and inclusion, welcoming performers of all backgrounds—including Screech Arts, a community arts group that supports artists with disabilities. The festival’s accessible approach has garnered positive feedback from participants and audience members alike.
“We’re thrilled to continue this tradition in 2025, giving audiences the chance to discover amazing performances in the most unexpected locations. It’s all about making arts experiences accessible to everyone, regardless of budget or background,” Osuch stated.
The festival is supported by major partners, including the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and Brisbane City Council.
