‘Lights Up on The Arts: Home Delivery!’

Lights up on Aussie arts with performances to be home delivered

A special and important concert is coming to Australian homes this May 2020.

‘Lights Up on The Arts [Home Delivery]’ will spotlight the local performing arts industry and support performers whose livelihoods have been impacted by the COVID-19 venue shut down.

Presented and created by James Cutler and Joshua Robson Productions, this one-night-only special will take a live audience into the living rooms of performers from shows such as ‘Shrek: The Musical’, ‘School of Rock: The Musical’, and ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Australia’ – all of which were cancelled in light of coronavirus restrictions.

Acclaimed Broadway composer, Stephen Schwartz has granted the concert express permission to his vast catalogue of musical hits. Known for his work in ‘Wicked’, ‘Pippin’, ‘Godspell’, ‘The Prince of Egypt’, ‘Children of Eden’ and ‘The Baker’s Wife’, Schwartz has a rich collection of songs. With many important and relevant themes in his music, the concert will feature a through-line message of connection, togetherness, unity, a second chance, the joys of a simple life and hope.

Producer, Joshua Robson, indicated on his website that the event aims to remind audiences why the arts matter.

It is our hope that the optimistic and uplifting nature of his music, together with our program, will remind Australia and beyond that the Arts matter, that we are a source of joy in the world, and, failing all else, the Arts will sustain our world even through the toughest of situations. We think that’s worth celebrating,” Robson stated.
