Theatre Haus shares its 2020 #WallofFaves

Theatre Haus is proud to announce their #WallofFaves for 2020.

Aiming to recognise the achievements of theatremakers across Southeast Queensland and beyond, the WallofFaves highlights favourite performances throughout the community, independent and professional sectors.

While COVID-19 devasted the arts industry, Theatre Haus saw, streamed and enjoyed over 100 productions throughout the pandemic. Such an feat is testament to the artists who continued to adapt their artforms and preserve through tough times.

The #WallofFaves was established in 2019, after Theatre Haus’ first year of conception. As a wall that showcases favourite picks, they make mention of local producers, performers, and creatives to recognise the immense talent in our industry. The Theatre Haus team – of more than 20 volunteers – make anonymous selections of their favourite performances they’ve seen throughout the year. From there, the #WallofFaves selections are created and shared within the community.

In addition to favourite overall productions and designs, a new Favourite Online, Digital or Live Streamed Production category was included. Theatre Haus also selects Special Magic Moments which acknowledge standout and unforgettable performances. In 2020, this list includes Dennett Hudson and Tim O’Connor’s new musical, ‘Misfits School of Arts’, Nathan Sibthorpe’s stunning projection design in Queensland Theatre’s ‘The Holidays’, and performances by Reagan Warner in ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, Ngoc Phan in ‘That’s What She Said’, Brooke McMullen in ‘Leaving Jackson’ and Susie Williams in ‘The Hollow’ (to name a few).

Theatre Haus aims to connect the industry as a hub for reviews, news, editorials and events listings. These acknowledgements celebrate the year that was, as we look forward to a brighter 2021.
